Wencel Hetman was a civic leader, real estate developer, and surgical chiropodist. He was born in Poland and came to Chicago in 1905, where he attended DePaul University and the Illinois College of Chiropody. Active in both political parties, he was the 33rd Ward Republican committeeman in the 1920s and an aldermanic candidate. He was the Republican candidate for Congress from the 8th District in 1928.
